The only thing you can do is develop critical thinking in your child so they can examine and question everything. Otherwise if you talk against the beliefs of the JW's, you will be labeled as the "devil" by the believing parent. I did not understand everything and the seriousness of my baptism at the age of 17. Also I thought someone under a certain age is not capable of entering into a binding contract or agreement as that is what baptism is all about.

John Lennon: Imagine.....
by confusedandalone inthere's no heaven...... it's easy if you try.... i am not a huge fan of the beatles, not a fan of john lennon really either.
however, this song is one that i think most people tend to like for its airy feel and sentiment.
the funniest thing to me is how the opening 9 words of this song really really really make one think about belief.. honestly for one second trying to imagine there is no heaven, it is easy if you try.

John Lennon was saying if we want to live in peace and unity that to get shed our divisive divisions like religion and politics.

How to DF 2 People With ZERO Proof! New YouTube video and article
by RayPublisher inthis story is quite remarkable and no doubt many will appreciate it being told.
it is telling for several reasons; it highlights the fact that the watchtower organization can expel and marginalize anyone for literally anything if they are crossed.
they did that to ray franz back in the early 1980s and they recently have done it to these fine folks.. there are some six pieces of documentation in the account and it is in some ways a complicated mess, but it really boils down to a couple of active witnesses informing on someone to the elders.

There is a couple of things that will piss off the elders. For this couple to get a "worldly" lawyer to represent them is the ultimate sin in the elder’s eyes. I went through this kangaroo court preceding’s 20 years ago. That was the final straw for me. The laughable thing is I do not recognize their authority, so they can do anything they like.

I was there with the Jdubs in 1960's and 70's and believe me the 1975 was a marked year. In the early 70's, I was told I would not graduate high school in this system and was to go into the full time preaching work as the end of this system was just around the corner. If you would have said cautionary comments to the contrary, you would have been looked down as someone with little faith. It wasn't till 1975 came that the society started playing down the significants of 1975. Anyone that lived through it that says otherwise either is lying or has a short memory.

It just infuriates me to think growing up that our family was told that we would never see death and we would all happily hold hands together into that promised new system because this generation was in no way to pass away. My father sold his house in the 70's based on this lie that to put all our efforts into the full time preaching. Only to see my parents grow old a die. The WT society can deny this all they want but I was there and seen it first-hand. I do not put anything past these lying SOB, they will do anything to keep the R&F Jdub under their control.

What happens when the second generation dies out? They will change the prophecy to read those that knew the second generation and so forth. I recall an elder saying that Jehovah would preserve the FTS and make sure some of them lived through Armageddon, so they could direct the work here on earth. So much for that prediction.

Does faith excuse serious problems with the bible?
by iCeltic ini constantly read that having faith is the answer to knowing that god (or in most cases, jesus) exists.
but to me it's quite clear there are serious difficulties in believing the bible.. adam and eve.

Whenever I would question anything in the bible I was told to have "faith". With a logical reasoning mind it takes more than just blind faith to make a person believe in something based on mythology. This along with religions human rights track record made my mind up.

My story so far
by brainmelt ini've been trying to avoid posting this, due to extreme paranoia but its time to post my story.
i hope to not post too many details, as we've avoided being df so far, our group elder was young and lovely and cool and i just hope that in time he learns the ttatt.. i'm a regular lurker on here, occasional poster (i can't post much as my phone browser only lets me read but not post, so i only post on the odd occasion i get a time alone on the pc).
i have been fading since round about last september ( so almost my first anniversary of learning ttatt).

My thoughts on religion is same s*&t different pile. It is just a way of control and I do not need anyone telling me what to do.
